چکیده
This study was conducted to identify the fire weather conditions needed assess future peatland fires under climate change. Recent in Indonesia have resulted globally significant environmental impacts. Nevertheless, peatlands has not been clarified. The objective of this is determine We analyzed fire, rainfall, temperature, humidity, and wind fire-prone areas Sumatra. Analysis results using 20 years satellite hotspot data from 2003 showed that Sumatra occur every other month except December April when rainfall intensifies. Due relatively low North only January March (the main dry season), but also around June August if short-term drought happens. These trends may suggest are mostly a combustible state. diurnal active tend high air temperatures (around above 34 °C), relative humidity (lower than 50%), speeds (higher 18 km h−1). hope report will help improve peat assessments forecasting rapid

متن کاملUsing satellite fire detection to calibrate components of the fire weather index system in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Vegetation fires have become an increasing problem in tropical environments as a consequence of socioeconomic pressures and subsequent land-use change. In response, fire management systems are being developed. This study set out to determine the relationships between two aspects of the fire problems in western Indonesia and Malaysia, and two components of the Canadian Forest Fire Weather Index ...
متن کاملThe Topanga Fire: A Dramatic Response to Topography, Fuels, and Critical Fire Weather Conditions
For the firefighting community, dealing with extreme wildland fire behavior is very challenging. To complicate matters, there are a number of key variables that can contribute to extreme fire behavior with rapid fire growth. In order to assist in predicting fire behavior, the fire behavior triangle was created (Figure 1). The fire behavior triangle consists of three sides: Topography (slope, as...

Human-tiger conflict occurs in Indonesia but mediate disturbance areas such as multiple-use forests where tigers and people coexist. In Indonesia there is a there is little recent information about the scope of the problem, and adequate policies are not in place to address need to develop a definition of problem tigers, a database to track conflicts, and a process to respond immediately to the ...
متن کاملContemporary Minangkabau food culture in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
Diet has a strong relationship with food culture and changes in it are likely to be involved in the pathogenesis of newly emergent degenerative diseases. To obtain in-depth opinions about the food culture of Minangkabau people, focus group discussions were conducted in a Minangkabau region, represented by four villages in West Sumatra, Indonesia, from January to March 1999. The members of the d...
